Hiving bees is actually kinda fun… the fourth or fifth season you do it… and it helps if you spend your summers chasing swarms (which is also lots of fun, and similar to hiving a package). The first time I did it, I was pretty apprehensive, and I know that there are a lot of first-time beekeepers out there that are feeling that apprehension, too.
My family was kind enough to record video of the experience, and I posted it on YouTube.
